Salary Range : $90,000 - $106,000 per year

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced RN to join our team as the Manager of the Med-Surg Unit. This role is vital in administering, analyzing, and appraising patient care within the department, advising the Acute Care Director on patient care status, budgetary projections, and quality improvement processes.

You will anticipate and estimate future departmental needs to enhance the quality of patient care.

What You Will Do in This Role :

• Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and the ability to support staff in delivering high-quality care.
• Exhibit strong leadership, supervision, and management skills to foster a productive and cost-effective operational area.
• Apply knowledge of the nursing process in planning, organizing, and managing personnel resources.
• Participate and cooperate in unit-based Quality Improvement processes.
• Provide an environment supportive of quality patient care through effective resource and personnel management.
• Serve as a patient and family advocate, protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Plan and implement patient care based on comprehensive assessment and age-specific needs.
• Monitor patient responses, recognize changes in physiological and psychosocial status, and take appropriate actions.
• Actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety or the quality of care.
• Utilize the occurrence reporting system to report potential patient safety issues.
• Follow established guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes.
• Attend in-service presentations and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Use Performance Improvement Plans to enhance patient safety.
• Maintain regular, punctual, and dependable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What Qualifications You Will Need :

• 2-3 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE RN leadership experience at the Supervisor / Manager level in an adult inpatient acute hospital setting.
• Associates in Nursing or BSN.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or BCLS Instructor certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license, or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) license.

Additional Information :

• Oversight of a 42-bed Med / Surg unit with 57 FTEs, including a Director, Manager, 4 Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), RNs, LPNs, and PCTs.
• The unit is highly engaged, with recent remodeling and upgrades.
• Staffing is satisfactory, with ongoing recruitment for new grad RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Techs.
• The facility is a 238-bed acute care hospital with various specialized services, including a Pediatric ER, Level III NICU, and PICU.
