$100K for DPTs in Southern Idaho? DPTs Shocked at Career Path to Earning 6 Figures

DPTs are often surprised by the potential to earn $100k per year.

As an entry-level DPT, the starting salary typically ranges between $75,000 and $77,000 annually. However, many overlook market forces suppressing salaries, such as declining reimbursements, particularly from federal payers.

The first mistake most DPTs make is focusing solely on the starting salary without considering future growth opportunities sacrificing future earnings for a paycheck today.

At Body Balance Physical Therapy, we've created a career ladder that has taken individuals from a physical therapy tech position through DPT school, to becoming a staff entry-level DPT, obtaining advance certifications, advancing to a senior physical therapist, becoming a clinical director, and ultimately reaching equity partnership.

This pathway aims to help other DPTs find similar opportunities in their own careers.

Body Balance PT Career Ladder :

Entry Level DPT : primary focus here is on learning systems through mentorship with experienced clinicians to deliver effective clinical care.

Direct Access / Lead DPT : primary focus here is on fine tuning advanced clinical skills, and development of other competencies including team leadership and marketing.

Senior Team Leader : this is a senior position with experience.

Clinical Director : primary competencies to develop at this level are leadership, financial management, team building, marketing, and operations.

Equity Partner : this is a team member with an ownership stake in the practice involved in the planning and growth of our practice.

In addition to short-term salary considerations, total compensation considerations include :

Wages

Bonuses and profit sharing

401k with potential matching (e.g. 3% at our company)

Health Insurance*

Dental Insurance

Vision coverage

Continuing education support and mentorship

Paid time off & Holidays

Student loan assistance.
