Medical Director Position At Vca New Hartford Animal Hospital

VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital located in New Hartford, NY is looking for a Medical Director who enjoys practicing advanced medicine with a cohesive, tenured team.

We are located at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains and our local New Hartford Schools are ranked some of the highest in the country. We are an hour from Syracuse and 1.5 hours from Albany, both large cities! We have a professional hockey team (The Utica Comets), several community colleges as well as our private university, Utica College, many community events including the Boilermaker road race (where runners come from all over the world to participate), the Stanley Theater which provides off Broadway plays, as well as some of the best Italian restaurants in the country!

We partner with local rescue groups, the Herkimer County Humane Society and Freedom Guide dogs to provide high quality medicine at a cost savings for them.

Schedules are determined by the individual team member needs along with the hospital needs. Most of our positions are Full-time but we will consider Part-time candidates as well.

Hours :

  • Monday through Thursday : 7 : 30 am to 7 : 00 pm
  • Friday : 7 : 30 am to 6 : 00 pm
  • Saturday : 8 : 00 am to 2 : 00 pm
  • Sunday : Closed

  • Compensation : Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. Salary for this position ranges from $140k-$160k in base salary, depending on experience. This position qualifies for an MD Stipend of $15k per year. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

  • Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in New York or the ability to obtain
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
