As the Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in our pharmacy operations, seamlessly blending clinical expertise with technical finesse.
Your duties encompass a spectrum of responsibilities, from dispensing prescriptions to meticulously managing medication inventory and supplies.
Under the direct guidance of our on-duty pharmacist, you'll ensure the smooth flow of pharmaceutical services, contributing to exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
This position will contain driving from our Johnnie Ruth Clarke location to our Boley location
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in most aspects of filling prescriptions including reading, interpreting, and processing :
- Uses the computer and appropriate software in processing prescriptions; Counts and pours medications, reconstitutes pediatric solutions and suspensions, selects appropriate containers and applies labels, performed under proper supervision of the pharmacist
- Assists in maintaining a complete and up to date patient profile including name, address, allergy information, insurance status, and any additional information as needed
- Communicates with prescribers and their agents to obtain refill authorizations
- Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims, follows up on claims
- Assists pharmacist in maintaining workflow :
- Triages telephone calls for pharmacist. Logs phones in and out properly
- Assists patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders including phone orders
- At point of pick up, verifies that patient received correct prescription(s)
- Accepts payment transactions
- Assists other pharmacy staff during down time
- Maintains an adequate inventory of medications and all additional supplies required for daily processing. Duties include :
- Maintaining an adequate supply of plastic containers, bottles, labels bags, etc.
- Ordering medications and supplies (excludes CIIs)
- Ensuring expired medications are removed from shelves monthly or as often as needed
- Maintaining safety measures for shelf locations of lookalike / sound alike drugs per policy
- Removing old prescriptions that were not picked up in 2 weeks from the front, reverses claims, and returns to stock twice monthly
- Assisting with preparing the pharmacy inventory
- Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of regulatory laws and practices in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations by performing strict record keeping to include :
- Records refrigerator temperatures as required o Files and archives prescriptions and logs appropriately
- Answers phone with a greeting that includes name and title
- Assists in maintaining proper audit trail for processed prescriptions, including daily and monthly reports; generates additional reports as requested
- Maintains awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice : o Maintains knowledge of loss prevention techniques
- Assists in teaching technician students
- Maintains Pharmacy Technician License, per state and federal laws
- Adheres to corporate compliance programs, by reporting improper or unethical conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations, or program requirements
- Maintains good housekeeping practices by ensuring workspaces and surrounding areas are clean and tidy
- Strictly adheres to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal and accreditation agency rules and regulations

Minimum Qualifications
- State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Minimum (1) year of pharmacy experience
- Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic records system
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, symbols, phrases, and abbreviations
- Mathematical proficiency
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB), preferred
- Completion of a Florida approved pharmacy technician program
Licenses, Certification or Registration
State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration, required
