Electrician Job Description
An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They ensure that electrical work meets relevant codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components
- Use testing devices to identify problems and ensure functionality
- Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems
- Install and maintain lighting systems
- Work with various power distribution systems
