The Intermediate Care Unit is a 25-bed unit caring for a variety of patients. Our unit falls under the critical care umbrella.

This unit is considered a cardiac unit and the patients are typically monitored on telemetry. IMC is a fast-paced environment;

the acuity of the patients can change rapidly. The IMC staff works together as a team to provide the patients with the utmost efficient care.

Corewell Health Taylor Hospital is a 148-bed, Magnet®-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader in the metro Detroit area.

Proudly serving Taylor and surrounding communities since 1977, it offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Scope of w ork

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles.

The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Associates in Nursing Required

Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years

Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.

MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required

AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months

Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years

1 year of experience as an RN in the ICU Preferre d
