Accounting Part Time Faculty Pool (Fluent Spanish Preferred)

Position Summary

North Seattle College is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.

The faculty will teach part-time in Accounting, including but not limited to Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Bookkeeping, and QuickBooks courses.

Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

Successful candidates will need to complete the Canvas Learning Management System training offered by the College prior to starting teaching courses.

What you bring as a candidate (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience) :

• An understanding of the goals and role of the community college
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of Accounting
• Master's Degree or PhD in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution
• Professional Industry certification e.g., CPA (preferred)
• A demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and
• serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds
• Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning
• The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting
• Familiarity of Learning Management Systems and willingness to be proficient in Canvas Learning Management System prior to the beginning of teaching assignment
• International Accounting experience (preferred)
• Fluency in Spanish language (preferred)

Physical Requirements :

The candidate will work in an office and classroom environment and use a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.

The noise level in the work environment is typical of an office or classroom.

• The candidate will encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
• The candidate is regularly required to provide 1 : 1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
