Title : Data Visualization Engineer - SQL, Tableau, Qlik (SQL programming, R)

Our Visualizations team is seeking a REMOTE Visualizations Developer to support our customer's established portfolio of data visualizations and ever-growing development requirements.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience with, and a solid understanding of, modern data visualization tools for promoting data-driven decision making and promoting business process improvement.
The ideal candidate will submit qualified experience and portfolio examples prior to any consideration, be able to perform the following duties, and possess the supporting education and employment experience :
Responsibilities to include but not limited to-
- High proficiency in data visualizations and dashboard development using visualization tools (to include Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
- Develop visualization products to customer’s requirements, generally through iterative development meetings, with strict adherence to data fidelity while delivering creative, appealing and interactive dashboards.
- Deliver professionally designed visualizations that adhere to established internal design standards, while continually seeking ways to better or improve upon established standards with alignment to the team’s mission and growing requirements.
- Support internal and external customers, including direct team members, with sound understanding of data concepts, data management, visualizations development processes, and the like, though robust collaboration and fostering data stewardship.
- Database experience, preferably through SQL utilization, to execute on data mining, data queries, and data cleansing for the purposes of ad hoc queries and data modeling that support development of front-end visualizations products.
- Quality assurance adherence through iterative peer and subject matter expert reviews, with the ability to independently validate resultant work output against qualified data.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve defects in visualization design, level of detail expressions, complex queries, views, stored procedures etc.
to improve data quality and optimization for the most accurate and performant dashboards.
- Excellent communications skills, strong analytical skills, punctual, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially within a virtual environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple requirements, and the agility to support changing / emergent priorities as set-forth by government customer. Required Education :
- BA / BS degree in data science, accounting, statistics, mathematics, computer science, business, or related field; ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUION : Two (2) years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor'
s degree. Required Experience :
- Minimum of 3 years of related analytical experience
- Direct work experience utilizing current industry accepted analytical tools equivalent to Tableau and / or Power BI
- Experience with agile development through multiple development environments and utilizing software development management tools such as Azure DevOps
- Experience developing using Microsoft SQL Server or other database tools
- Full-stack visualizations developer (SQL to Tableau)
- Providing support and product development to a large community of visualizations end-users (10k+)
- This position is FULLY REMOTE . Must be available to work during standard business hours in the Eastern Time Zone, regardless of geographic location
- Ability to work in a virtual environment : Interface continuously throughout the day with team members, leadership, and customers via various web platform(s)
- Professional certifications desired (list not exhaustive) - Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Server Associate, MCSA : SQL 2016 BI Development, MCSA : Azure Data Scientist Associate, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, MCSA : BI Reporting.
