Novant Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to work in a secondary school setting. Primary responsibilities will be at a local area high school with cross-coverage as needed throughout Novant Health facilities and on-site athletic training coverage at sporting events.
Evaluates, plans, directs, documents, and administers programs of athletic training and rehabilitation. Performs supervisory duties and participates in continuing education.
Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the department and facility. Communicates with physician, referral sources, and other clinical staff and coordinates athlete's schedule, treatment programs, discharge planning, and recommends solutions to athlete care problems.
The Athletic Trainer licensed in the appropriate state, acts under the supervision of a physician and must adhere to the Protocols and guidelines as required by the licensing agency.
The protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician and reviewed annually. The athletic trainer will also promote Novant Health through outreach and education for health and wellness in the community.
