Role
Presidian Hospitality is seeking a dedicated and professional Sous Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and portioning.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands and guest expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking to ensure flavor and presentation meet resort standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create seasonal menus and specials, providing input on new dishes.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food products and reporting any shortages.
- Support kitchen operations by cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
Requirements
Education / Formal Training : High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality management preferred.Experience : Minimum 3-5 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or Sous Chef role; proven ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff in a high-volume or fine-dining environment; strong background in kitchen operations, including prep, line execution, plating and service standards; experience with inventory control, ordering and vendor relationships; proficiency in maintaining food safety and sanitation standards; demonstrated skills in menu development, recipe costing and seasonal specials; ability to collaborate with the Executive Chef and FOH teams.Knowledge / Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong organizational and multitasking abilities; customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing outstanding service; ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately; basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and reservation software; flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.Additional Details
