The research / postdoctoral fellow will have an MEng, PhD, or similar educational or work experience. The successful candidate will have a strong conceptual / theoretical and practical / hands-on background in mathematics, physics, artificial intelligence, machine learning (including deep learning), or related area and is highly motivated to contribute to scientific and engineering advances in a fast paced, high caliber, entrepreneurial academic setting.

Essential Responsibilities :

1. Discover important new insights regarding the structures of datasets and machine-learning models.

2. Devise, test, and implement algorithms for high-throughput data.

3. Contribute to the generation of standard protocols and intellectual property.

4. Design and implement computer algorithms, potentially including supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods, deep learning (autoencoders, transformers, geometric deep learning, dynamical systems, model decomposition), etc.

Key Qualifications :

MEng or PhD in AI / ML, data science, mathematics, engineering, physics or related field required. Doctoral degree preferred.

At least 0-1 years of related work experience.

Expertise with Python libraries like PyTorch, Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.

Fluency in Unix / Linux and ideally other standard bioinformatics environments (. R, Perl, C, bash / csh / zsh, CUDA, OpenGL), ideally including hands-on experience with parallel processing.

Demonstrated expertise in computational analysis of large datasets, ideally in imaging and / or biological sequence.

Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

Hands-on expertise with statistical descriptions of complex systems (. energy, entropy, moments, and their theoretical underpinnings.

Prior experience with / training in medical imaging and / or adaptive immunity.

Experience building web applications / portals (. Shiny Server or Python analogs).

• teaching skills and provide supervision of students and their projects when appropriate. (essential)
• Engages in collaborative meetings with other research groups. Attends and leads scientific seminars. (essential)
• Learns to identify, acknowledge and correct deficiencies in one's own performance. (essential)
• Under the direction of PI, pursues / secures independent funding near the end of the fellowship. (essential)

Required Qualifications :

Doctoral Degree or .

0-1 year of postdoctoral research experience in academic or industrial lab setting, and / or teaching assistantship in a university setting, and / or residency, and / or clinical duties beyond that of the qualifying doctoral degree.

Physical Nature of the Job :

Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the hospital campus.
