Job Description :
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Prior Lake, Minnesota.
The SLP will provide essential speech and language therapy services to students within our school district, collaborating closely with educators, families, and support personnel to promote effective communication skills and academic success.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders, using standardized tests, clinical observations, and input from parents and teachers.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy plans based on assessment findings and student goals.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and support students' overall development.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports for IEP meetings and ongoing communication with stakeholders.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities to review student progress, set new goals, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed of current research, trends, and best practices in speech-language pathology and education to enhance service delivery and student outcomes.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
- Minnesota state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals, students, and families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in documentation and report writing.
