Staff Accountant

P&C Staff Accountant Richardson, Texas

Hybrid (2 in and 3 remote)

Requires P&C Insurance Carrier / MGA Accounting

Four-year degree in Accounting / or related and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a P&C carrier or MGA - required .

Office is locating to Richardson, TX off the 75. P&C insurance carrier will hire an experienced Staff Accountant with preference for someone with prior Property & Casualty Insurance carrier yellow book - financial reporting both STAT / GAAP required .

Carrier will train, coach and mentor this hire to prepare them for advancement. Looking to attract an enthusiastic, driven and attention-to-detail accountant who wants to make a difference.

This opportunity is offered as a hybrid work week requiring two in-office days per week, although more days may be necessary at certain times.

There is no opportunity to work remotely or to relocate with assistance. Locals only.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and having a basic knowledge of query tools is required . Insurance annual statement software and investment software experience preferred- Clearwater, Business Central, FSIOasis, PremiumPro

Responsibilities of this role include, but aren’t limited to :

1. Assisting with STAT / GAAP monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement preparation

2. Verifying that investment information is properly recorded and done in a timely manner

3. Preparing and filing premium tax returns, escheat reports and payments

4. Preparing and submitting annual Form-1099 submissions

5. Preparing various monthly account reconciliations and making appropriate adjusting entries

6. Complying with statutory reporting requirements by preparing and filing state reports and payments

7. Cross training with other employees and providing assistance with other tasks and projects as needed

CPA certification or work toward insurance / industry certifications would be a huge plus in consideration.
