About The Division

Join the Revenue Accounting Division team as an Accounts Examiner! Work involves examining records, tax reports, and documentation submitted by taxpayers and their representatives.

Analyzing information and determines action to be taken on assignments in the Fund and Payment Reconciliations section. Identifies, determines, and documents problems in system.

The Revenue Accounting Division will be participating in the Returnship Program which will reintroduce on-the-job training skills to individuals who have been away from the workforce for two years or longer and are looking to re-enter the workforce.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years analytical or problem-solving experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field.
  • Experienceprovidinganalysisorproblemsolvinginanaccountingorbusiness-relatedworkenvironment.
  • Experienceusingapersonalcomputer in a Windows Environment andstandardofficesoftwareincludingMicrosoftWordandExcel.

Substitutions

One additional year of experience performing analyticalorproblem-solvingwork may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

In this role you will :

Knowledge of :

  • General office practices and procedures.
  • Standard mathematical computations including calculating tax and interest.

Skill in :

  • Using a personal computer in a Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, interpreting tax statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Conducting research and analysis.
  • Performing mathematical calculations.

Ability to :

  • Learn new concepts and apply knowledge appropriately.
  • Perform complex technical analysis.
  • Research and analyze data.
  • Analyze, interpret, and explain agency and division policies and procedures upon request.
  • Act in the best interest of the agency, maintain confidentiality and continually strive to improve self and job performance.
