Job Description

The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC single turret lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This role demands a strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret drawings, basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and a commitment to safety and precision in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate single turret CNC lathe machines, some with live tooling capabilities.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, and plug gages.
  • Perform manual deburring of parts during the machining process.
  • Make offsets to tooling.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues, such as tool wear, to maintain required dimensions.
  • Accurately record production data.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure the workspace is clean and organized.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong communication skills.
