Job Description :
- Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs and be dependable, accountable, and cooperative.
- Responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate care and performing all exams according to department procedures.
- Independently perform technical procedures with proper and safe utilization of equipment for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Set up equipment and position patients for imaging service.
- Maintain minimum FDA / MQSA requirements for continuing education, experience, and equipment.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
- Adjust technique for optimal image quality while ensuring patient safety.
- Report and address any equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Clean, disinfect, and properly maintain equipment.
- Obtain complete clinical history and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Ensure proper patient identification and marker utilization.
- Review radiographic images and release patients.
- Respond to emergency situations and use critical thinking skills.
- Clarify ambiguous orders and assist other technologists as needed.
- Verify patient identifiers and clinician orders before procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and comfort.
- Demonstrate proficiency in pre- and post-procedural care, and sterile technique if applicable.
- Organize schedule and priorities efficiently.
- Follow physician instructions during procedures and practice RBAC (Read Back and Confirm).
- Explain procedures to patients to minimize anxiety and ensure cooperation using AIDET.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff.
- Ensure concise, legible documentation using precise terminology.
- Complete mandatory education and maintain a high first-time acceptance rate for images.
- Ensure equipment is operational and meets all standards.
- Restock supplies and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Transport patients and assist them as needed.
- Perform routine clerical duties to ensure continuity of services.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
