THIS IS A TRAVEL JOB SUPPORTING MILITARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN THE NORTHERN US. Location listed in not the actual work location.
Large Architect / Engineer / Construction Company seeks project engineer to lead major construction effort at several military installations.
Two to three-year projects with potential follow-on work. The ideal candidate will have construction projects as a project manager, project engineer or project executive.
Knowledge of federal construction and experience with EM 385-1-1 and US Army Corps of Engineering or NAVFAC construction, processes, procedures and reporting.
Ability to manage a complex, multi-Division construction from initial site development to final commissioning and handover.
Travel, allowances, per diem and quarters provided.
Responsibilities :
- Leads and enforces the safety policies and procedures and addresses non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors and vendors.
- Conducts daily huddles to promote communication, resolve issues and share ideas, so the projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.
- Directs creation of project schedule with the Superintendent and execution
- Maximizes cash flow by aggressively adhering to the project invoicing schedule and ensures the team accurately documents and submits all receivables, quantity as-builts, change orders and claims.
- Works to maximize savings in the cost, labor and other cost budgets.
- Produces complete subcontracts and ensures all subcontractors execute to the agreement and the company’s standards. - Ensures the required documentation is received in a timely manner.
- Estimates, prices and negotiates owner initiated extra work, change of scope items, and contract deletions to maximize profits.
- Actively develops client relations to generate opportunities for new work.
- Actively participates in Marketing and Estimating department activities to develop capture plans, teaming strategies,
Experience / Qualifications :
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business Mgt required
- Record of supporting Federal / DoD projects required (please provide list with resume)
- Airfield and / or flightline facility construction experience (preferred)
- 5+ years as a Project Manager on progressively larger and complex projects
