Certified Medical Assistant (FT-Day), Bound Brook NJ

Job Overview :

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Certified Medical Assistant in Bound Brook, NJ. The Certified Medical Assistant will perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, and medication administration.

Qualifications : Required :

Required :

• Completion of a formal nurse assistance training program
• At least six months experience

Certifications and Licenses Required :

• CMA Certification (NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, AECA, or NAHP)
• BLS Certification from AHA

Scheduling Requirements :

• Day Shift, 40 hours / week (*we would like 1 or 2 evenings until 6-7pm, can have a later start time on those days, and 1 or 2 rotating Saturdays per month)
• Full-Time Schedule

Essential Functions :

• Supports practice needs with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, preparing lab requests, and other clerical tasks as assigned
• Communicates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary
• Prepares rooms, arranges instruments and equipment, and ensures a neat and sanitary environment
• Rooms patients, verifies patient information, confirms purpose of visit, obtains and records vitals and updates medical history
• Communicates with patients and other providers per the instruction of the overseeing physician or health practitioner
• Creates and maintains health record information, files and organizes as needed
