In our organization, these professionals are placed inthe position of Mental Health Coordinator to plan and provide clinical mental health services of anon-medical nature in the facility.
The successful candidate should be able to perform ALLof the following functions at a pace and level of performanceconsistent with the actual job performancerequirements.
- Conducts mental health screenings and assessments basedon a review of available records and clinical interviews withinmates.
- Provides treatment toinmates by developing, implementing and modifying individualtreatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and level offunctioning.
- Documents treatment andevaluation activities in the health care record for each personseen.
- Maintains strictconfidentiality of sensitive materials and information at alltimes.
- Demonstrates a thoroughknowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by wayof treatments and activities used for individuals incaseload.
- Provides appropriatemental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions toaddress the needs ofinmates.
Qualifications :
- Graduate from anaccredited college or university with a Master's degree in SocialWork, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or a degree in a relatedclinical area.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience whichincludes two (2) years in a comparable job positionrequired.
- Must possess appropriate certification or licensing inthe state where practice occurs. ie., LPC, LCSW, orLMFT
- A valid driver's license is preferred unless required bycontract or applicable statute.
- Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 18years of age.
