The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general and preventative care, conducting check-ups, treating illnesses, ordering lab tests and prescribing medication for children and adults. Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations.

Essential Functions :

• Performing physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
• Administering and performing diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
• Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
• Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
• Educating and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care
• Facilitating the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
• Planning and managing patient care according to the patient’s needs
• Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
• Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends
