A paper packaging manufacturer is looking to hire a Plant Manager to lead their teams of highly skilled individuals in Northern Illinois.
The Plant Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing the production process, facility, and people to ensure quality products are produced according to company quality standards and customer commitments.
This position is responsible for leading the manufacturing, quality, safety, and maintenance functions.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day manufacturing operations which continually meet Company production requirements.
- Foster a high-performance culture of learning, growth, collaboration, and accountability.
- Ensure a strong safety environment by continually reviewing safety standards and processes and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and initiatives.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to strengthen operational efficiency and cost containment.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles in designing, specifying and validating manufacturing processes that achieve organizational goals.
- Drive cost efficiency throughout manufacturing process including raw materials utilization, labor resources and effective oversight.
- Provide reporting to management regarding safety, operation, efficiency, process control and procedures.
- Drive excellence in Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and OSHA compliance throughout manufacturing operations.
- Drive and champion new technologies, collaborations, and improved processes to define, leverage, and implement best production practices including leading continuous improvements in cost reduction, production time, and pipeline capacity using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Ideal candidate will be a strong business partner and leader with the ability to scope and understand business needs and implement solutions along with :
Requirements
5+ years of plant manager experience in packaging, printing, converting or similar industry required
Bachelors degree in business, operations management or similar field required
Demonstrated leadership with at least 3 years leading cross-functional teams to drive transformational improvements and changes required
Strong experience in lean manufacturing processes with exposure to Lean, 5S, Six Sigma required
Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skills
Expert analytical skills
