Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential issues, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and material pricing to maintain accurate cost databases.
- Create comprehensive bid packages for submission to clients, ensuring they meet all requirements and deadlines.
- Participate in bid review meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a construction estimator in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
