Job Description

The Director of Development will be responsible for :

  • Developer and implement a market strategy to expand the firm's existing operations across the West ( WECC & CAISO )
  • Effectively work with the existing Development team on Utility-scale projects ( Wind, Solar + BESS across WECC & CAISO)
  • This will involve taking projects from inception through to completion
  • Acquire real estate rights for development opportunities
  • Hire, train and up-skill more junior Developers into the team
  • Maintain relationships with landowners and other local stakeholders
  • Direct resource management processes and output estimates
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting environmental assessment campaigns
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting property and sales tax abatement efforts
  • Manage occasional permitting activities with support from other team members
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses

The Successful Applicant

The Director of Development will have :

  • 10+ years experience within the renewable industry
  • This individual must have development experience on wind projects
  • Strong preference for this individual to be based in PST or MST
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field is desirable
  • Experience of identifying and working on greenfield projects through to completion
  • Experience of creating & implementing a market strategy for leading the growth of a Development function
  • Please still apply if you have smaller scale projects to date but would like to work on utility scale projects

What's on Offer

The Director of Development will be eligible for :

  • $225,000 - $260,000 base salary
  • Up to 50% annual bonus
  • Equity
  • Abilityfor 100% remote or a hybrid schedule working in the firm's office in California
