HID Global is looking for a new test engineer! As part of our team, you will work with global teams around the world to build the best version of access control we can.
You will be heavily involved with our development team as we embed our QA resources in the teams and will touch everything from elevators to fingerprint readers.
The qualified candidate will work with the team to create validation plans using TestRail and will learn our custom automation language to create scripts.

The PACS business is highly visible and one of our most significant portfolios within HID Global. The PACS products include smart cards, mobile access and identifications, software, services and controllers for physical access control.
As our Test Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by :
- Collaborating with developers and other quality assurance engineers to understand and clarify software requirements, develop test cases, and develop your product knowledge.
- Implementing HID’s automated testing tools to develop automated testing scripts and executing manual tests, automated tests, and performance tests.
- Helping reproduce errors reported from the field, test fixes, and report results to management.

Your Experience and Education include :
- BS in Computer Science required or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of practical Software QA Engineering experience with Windows / Linux-based applications required
- Experience with functional testing, automation, and regression testing
- Experience with test planning and test case development
- A strong background in Quality Assurance methodologies
- Experience with white, gray, and black box testing techniques and methodologies
- Experience with Physical Access Control Systems is a tremendous benefit
- Test lab and test bed development and maintenance
- Experience with testing Web Services
- Experience testing embedded applications
- A good understanding of networking and ability to configure devices to connect on the network
- Familiarity with serial communications (RS-232, RS-485)
- Experience setting up and utilizing virtual machines
- Experience with IoT devices
- Familiarity with cyber security related tools and testing methodologies.
