Work part-time for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture , who has collected data on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) for 50 years.
Customer service experience, a sales background, or farming knowledge, along with time management skills, self-motivation and attention to detail are helpful for interviewing operations (in-person and by telephone) to gather information from livestock and crop entities of all sizes.
Projects may include Census of Agriculture this winter / spring, a study of farm activity on selected acres in the summer and doing crop counts in corn and pecans fields in the fall.
A flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed. No guarented number of hours.
Hourly wage starts at $15+ per hour, supplies provided and mileage reimbursement
Continued training provided for all assignments
Work from home and / or in your local area on variety of assignments
A great second income or opportunity for semi-retired
Requirements are a valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, knowledge of computers or iPads and passing a background check.
