Location : Houston, TX 77055

Scheduled : 8 Hours in a Day , 5 Days in a week

Shift : 6 : 30 am - 3 : 30 pm, M-F

Hourly compensation : $29.00 - $31.00 Per hour.

Job Description :

Works in collaboration with the Registered Nurses to provide care of the surgical patient in the OR suite. Prepares the instruments for each surgical procedure. Scrubs in on surgical cases to prepare instruments and assists the surgeon. Assists in room turnover and are responsible for instrument decontamination. Contributes to the orientation of new surgical technicians. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to specific age groups. This position works as needed to provide staffing for the ASC OR. This position serves the following age groups : Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.

Must have qualifications / experience :

Education : Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.

Certification : Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is often required.

Skills : Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures (Ortho (Mako), GYN, ENT, Opthamology, General Surgery, Plastics), aseptic techniques, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Work Schedule : 0630 - 1530 Monday - Friday .

Assistance During Surgery : Scrub in on surgical cases to assist the surgeon by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.

Room Turnover : Assist in the turnover of operating rooms and ensure proper decontamination of instruments.

Orientation : Contribute to the orientation and training of new surgical technicians.

Patient Care : Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as they relate to specific age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualification :

Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
