Position Summary :
Assists physician during all invasive / cardiology and ablations. Performs and completes data reduction of all electrophysiology studies.
Assists with implantation of stents, Implantable Cardioverter / Defibrillator (ICDS) and Pacemakers.
Position Requirements :
Formal Education / Training :
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. BLS within 90 days of hire.
3. Previous Cath / EP lab experience preferred.
4. Current certification as a Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist preferred.
Key Results :
Completes all competencies for EP procedures.
Responsible for accurate data input during procedures.
Responsible for checking that all supporting documentation required for procedures is present in patient records.
Reports any equipment issues to appropriate person in a timely manner.
Communicates any issues with supplies, training or processes to the Asst. Director or director.
Communicates and works with anesthesia to insure and maintain patient safety in regards to correct patient positioning.
Actively participates in the development and fulfillment of the mission goals of EP Lab.
Completes any additional offsite training necessary.
Participates as necessary in patient and patient family education regarding EP procedures.
Insures proper communication is maintained with vendors whose presence is required / requested for procedures.
Handles / transports medications / solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Knows and follows all protocols as outlined for procedures.
