Caregiver

Our caregiver positions provide a unique opportunity to earn competitive pay while supporting an elderly adult at home. This job is first and foremost about being a great companion to your client.

This might mean engaging in conversation on topics of common interest or participating in activities together. In addition, you may be asked to prepare meals, run errands, or help with household tasks.

Note that we do NOT require you to provide hands-on or personal care services (e.g. bathing or transferring assistance) to our clients.

Experience is just one of the considerations in our hiring process. We also want to know about your interests and experiences, along with your level of enthusiasm for this type of work.

In the process of getting to know you, our staff will be better prepared to match you with a compatible client.

Typical Activities and Responsibilities

• Providing companionship to older adults and individuals with chronic conditions; this may include discussing current events or shared interests, or taking trips to cultural or entertainment venues
• Assisting with non-physical tasks such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, and light housework like folding laundry or throwing away leftover food items
• Safety supervision, standby assistance with ambulation or certain other tasks, medication reminders, adherence to care plans
• For clients with dementia, you’ll need to communicate effectively, provide mental stimulation, and / or safety supervision, as necessary
