Job description :

As the Head of operations and finance, you’ll be instrumental in driving Piñata’s growth through operational excellence and financial strategy.

This role is perfect for a hands-on leader with a strong background in finance and operations who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

You’ll work closely with the executive team to ensure our operational practices are efficient, scalable, and aligned with our financial goals.

This role will oversee everything from financial planning and analysis to operational processes, ensuring we have a strong foundation as we expand our reach.

Key responsibilities :

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and manage scalable operational processes that support company growth, particularly in customer experience, billing, and fulfillment.
  • Lead the finance and operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align financial strategy with overall business objectives, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Work closely with our accounting and tax teams, ensuring alignment on financial reporting, compliance, and tax matters.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls, compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to track and optimize operational efficiency, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and financial reporting for strategic partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to streamline processes and drive cost efficiency.

Necessary skills and qualifications :

  • Strong financial analysis & modeling skills : Experience in building financial models and conducting data-driven analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets : Advanced skills in spreadsheet software for financial analysis, reporting, and process optimization.
  • Operational rigor & organizational skills : Demonstrated ability to create and manage scalable processes to support growth.
  • Team building skills for remote companies : Experience in recruiting, developing, and leading remote teams, fostering collaboration and engagement.
  • Social & personable : Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Conversant in accounting & tax topics : Comfortable working with accounting and tax professionals, ensuring clear communication and alignment on financial matters.
  • Good negotiation skills : Ability to negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments : Background in fast-paced, scaling organizations, ideally within technology or PropTech industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; an MBA or CPA is a plus.
