Who We Are
The Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) is an organized research unit of the University of Colorado Research and Innovation Office dedicated to conducting and facilitating research on the genetic and environmental bases of individual differences in behavior.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Management :
- Manage and supervise all administrative staff, currently consisting of 3 University Staff positions.
- Work with faculty and research personnel to ensure their research budgets are in order and expenditures allocated appropriately.
- Coordinate financial and compliance aspects of events held at IBG.
- As the delegated IBG hiring authority, coordinate with relevant departments in resolving personnel issues.
- Lead all aspects of IBG grant applications, including budgetary guidance in preparation of proposal budgets.
- Recommend and establish internal policies and procedures in accordance with University and funding agency guidelines.
- Serve as Financial Manager for IBG, including oversight of all sponsored projects budgets.
- Prepare projections for sponsored research projects and manage all general, auxiliary, and gift fund speedtypes.
- Financial oversight of the IBG training program.
- Prepare university budgets and statistical and financial reports.
- Serve as the liaison between IBG and other administrative departments.
Leadership :
- Contribute to developing strategic goals and objectives by participating in planning.
- Provide support and counsel to the Director to establish Institute policies.
What We Require
A bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in general and / or research administration, including financial, HR, grant submission, and post-award management functions.

- Budgeting, forecasting, and accounting skills.
