Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location : Charleston, South Carolina
Shift : 12-Hour Night Shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), Weekend Rotation
Shifts Per Week : 3
Scheduled Hours : 36 hours per week
Hourly Rate : $29.62 - $44.42 per hour
Job Overview :
You will collaborate with the patient, the patient's family, and other healthcare providers to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate a treatment plan.
You will play a vital role in achieving positive patient and department outcomes, working with critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide expert care for patients with critical illness, including ventilator management and responding to Code Blue situations.
- Manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, exam preparation, and coordinating tests and admissions.
- Administer medications according to physician orders and monitor patient responses.
- Instruct patients and their families regarding medications, treatments, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accurate posting of tests and examination results.
- Perform daily checks of rooms to ensure necessary supplies are available.
- Handle and respond to incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when necessary.
Qualifications :
- Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Associate's Degree or higher required).
- License / Certification :
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or an active Compact / Multi-State RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (required within 6 months of hire / transfer).
- Experience : Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience required. Experience in critical care is preferred.
