What you’ll do

As the Software Engineer for Scout Motor’s digital products, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment.

Some of the key products as part of digital portfolio are order management, customer management, marketing, production, inventory and planning optimization, loyalty, merchandise, servicing and repairs, mobile app, vehicle connectivity, and more.

You will work with senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to design the technical underpinnings of the product.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the full software stack.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software development.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning sessions.

Location & Travel Expectations : The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events occasionally in Fremont, CA.

This role may be based out of a Scout Motors location in Fremont, CA or Remote. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer or similar role.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.

g., React, Angular, Vue.js).

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with server-side development using GoLang, Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of databases and SQL, with experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Hands on experience building on AWS using React, Go and / or Python.
  • Experience building consumer facing applications.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program.

Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $120,000-$140,000
