Development Manager
Denver's Early Childhood Council is seeking an experienced Development Manager to join their team!
WHAT WE DO
Denver's Early Childhood Council works to ensure our community's youngest children and families have a strong local system that supports children's healthy development, school readiness, and family well-being and stability.
We work with childcare professionals, health and mental health care providers, local school districts, local leaders, and other partners to enhance the quality and availability of childcare and early education opportunities for Denver children.
One of 35 regional Early Childhood Councils in Colorado, we serve as Denver's early childhood hub. Denver's Early Childhood Council connects childcare professionals to training, funding, and other support so that they can focus on what they do best : provide high-quality care and learning environments for our youngest children.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Denver's Early Childhood Council is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Development Manager to join our team. The Development Manager will work closely with the CEO to identify, develop, and secure new sources of revenue to support our mission.
This role is essential for expanding our financial resources through diverse funding streams, including grant writing, corporate sponsorships, individual donor development, and events.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising and development within the nonprofit sector, strong communication skills, and a passion for our cause.
Note : This position will focus on developing new funding sources and will not manage established government grants.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Grant Writing and Management
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Write, submit, and manage grant proposals, including timelines, to secure funding.
Corporate Sponsorships
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners.
- Create sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to corporate interests.
- Manage corporate sponsorship agreements and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
Individual Donor Development
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, including major donors.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and growth.
- Oversee donor recognition programs and events.
- Work with team to assess and strategize around fundraising events.
Communications and Outreach
- Partner with leadership team to develop compelling fundraising materials.
- Deliver presentations to potential donors and partners.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field.
- Proven success in grant writing and securing funding from diverse sources.
- Working knowledge of the early childhood education field.
- Function and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to translate, articulate, simplify, and communicate complex concepts to a wide variety of audiences
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficient in fundraising software and donor management systems.
- Creative and entrepreneurial thinker with the ability to develop innovative fundraising strategies.
- Current, valid Colorado driver's license is required.
WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION IS PROVIDING
- Expected annual salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 based on experience.
