Job Details

The Telemetry RN will work on a 46-bed unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill adult cardiac, medical / surgical patients and acutely ill adult patients with acute primary neurological diagnoses requiring close monitoring and neuro checks.

Common diagnoses and conditions include R / O MI, CHF, chest pain, pre-and post-cardiac catheterization care, hypertension, renal failure, diabetes, cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrhythmias, GI bleeds, ETOH withdrawal, cerebrovascular disorders, and seizure disorders.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for management and delivery of patient care to assigned patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and within the scope of practice delineated in the New York State Nurse Practice Act.

Work Schedule : 7am to 7 pm OR 7pm to 7am

Responsibilities :

  • Provides direct patient care
  • Delegates / assigns responsibility as appropriate to others
  • Serves as leader of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with and under the direction of the attending physician.
  • Focuses on completion of the nursing process including patient / family education and discharge planning.
  • Understands and acts appropriately to ensure optimum use of all resources.

Qualifications :

One year of medical-surgical or acute care / hospital nursing experience required.

Education for Registered Nurse RN :

Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.

Current license and registration to practice Registered Professional Nursing in New York State

Bachelor’s degree in nursing is Preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire.
