Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients. They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm. Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life’s journey.
Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
- Serves as a professional leader in assessing, planning, guiding and evaluating patient care.
- Interacts with management, physicians, and field staff utilizing a teamwork approach.
- Assists with training, and evaluation of all team clinical personnel
- Maintenance / development of the clinical record.
Qualifications
Education / Regulatory Requirements : Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Florida.BSN preferredHospice certification preferred.
Current Basic Life Support Certification.
Skills : One year of recent hospice, oncology, medical / surgical, or home health, public / health, geriatric care experience preferred.
Expertise in support skills, palliative care, and educational techniques.Basic computer skills and EMR software experience a plus.
Demonstrates organizational, administrative and personnel management skills.Understanding of and ability to apply characteristics of Hospice Nursing : case management, crisis intervention, communication skills, teaching skills, thanatology skills and needs.
- Professional Requirements : Communicates clearly and effectively in writing and orally.Able to work well under stress and deadlines.
- Language Skills : Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
