What WillYou Do?
As anEmbedded Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentorembedded software design and testing teams, ensuring the successfuldevelopment and maintenance of new and existing products.
This roleinvolves both team leadership and individual contributions. Keyresponsibilitiesinclude :
Leadand mentor embedded software design and testing teams, includingthe offshore embedded software test team in India, ensuringhigh-quality deliverables within specified timeframes.
Plan and implementembedded software design, development, and testing projects,managing priorities, resource needs, andallocation.
Oversee thedevelopment of embedded software for electronic technologies,ensuring compliance with functional safety regulations andstandards.
Supervise thecreation and execution of embedded software test plans, promotingtest automation and effective defectmanagement.
Coordinate withother departments, suppliers, and partners to achieveorganizationalgoals.
Provide technicalmentoring and professional development for teammembers.
Design and developsolutions, perform engineering calculations and studies, andinvestigate fieldissues.
Set standards andexpectations for embedded software design and testingpractices.
Develop andimplement a comprehensive embedded software testing strategy thataligns with industry bestpractices.
Implementeffective defect tracking and management processes, ensuring timelyresolution ofissues.
Balance work as amanager and as an individualcontributor.
WhatDo You Need?
Inorder to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company,an individual should meet the following minimumrequirements :
Bachelor’sdegree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, ElectricalEngineering, or a related engineering field(required).
Master’s degreein Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Management(preferred).
Manager II-10+years of experience in embedded software development with hands-onproduct design and testing(required).
5+ years ofsupervisory experience(preferred).
Manager I-6+years of experience in embedded software development with hands-onproduct design and testing(required)
2 years ofsupervisory experience(preferred)
Strongunderstanding of hardware-software integration(required).
Experience withcomplex electrical, mechanical, and software design for embeddedelectronics(required).
Proficient inproduct specification development and system engineering(required).
Skilled invarious testing types : functional, regression, performance,usability, and security(required).
Experience withcontinuous improvement processes in testing automation practices(required).
Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills.
Strong customerorientation and ability to anticipateneeds.
Ability to mentorteam members and guidedevelopment.
Strongattention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to managemultipleprojects.
Results-driven,action-oriented, and possessing a high degree ofintegrity.
