About The Position
Job Title : Social Worker Job Specialty : Social Work Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour days (7 AM-3 PM, 8 AM-4 PM) including rotating weekends and holidays Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Licensed and registered to practice as a social worker in NY State Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire Must-Have : Master's degree in Social Work- Assessment skills- Problem-solving theories and techniques- Flexibility and creativity in working with a diverse population- Time management skills- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills- Problem-solving capacity- Critical thinking- Organizational skills- Knowledge of community resources, third-party payers, and regulatory agencies- Competency with computers is preferred- Attendance at the hospital crisis program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter Job Description : Utilize assessment skills to evaluate the needs of patients- Apply problem-solving theories and techniques in diverse environments- Manage time efficiently to handle various responsibilities- Communicate effectively using verbal and written skills- Approach challenges with critical thinking and problem-solving capacity- Organize work effectively and maintain good organizational practices- Stay informed about community resources, third-party payers, and regulatory agencies- Attend and complete any required hospital programs and maintain certifications- Use computer systems proficiently, with a preference for competency in the system used
