Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma and circulating experience for a hospital position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Operating Room with case types including general, plastics, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal roboticsPatient care is provided in a short-term acute care setting with a daily census of 70-80 cases and 21 OR roomsCirculating is required; scrub experience is preferred but not mandatoryUses Cerner EMR systemDay shifts (3x12 hours, 11 : 00-23 : 30) with on-call requirements—six call shifts per six weeksFloating is required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as neededMust work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignmentAll OR RNs are expected to be flexible and float to different surgical specialties and related areas as neededFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply for this positionScrubs are provided by the facilityModules must be completed before starting and are done through the facility's online learning systemLocal candidates are accepted, but Indiana residents receive different compensation ratesReturning employees must have not worked as a perm or PRN employee at the facility for at least 12 months prior to applyingParking is free for all staffRequirements
Active IN or compact state RN license in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)Minimum 18 months–2 years of Operating Room RN experience, including Level I trauma experienceGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing programAbility to circulate in the operating room; experience in scrubbing is preferredMust be comfortable in most OR areas except CV and transplant proceduresBenefits
