Overview

We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. This role involves creating and modifying 2-D CAD models to support custom products, including grilles and shaped products for customer orders. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards and follow best practices in model and documentation creation. You will assist in validating engineer requests, create customer requirement drawings, and provide product data to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 2-D CAD models to represent design intent for custom products.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and best practices during model and documentation creation.
  • Assist in validating and auditing engineer requests for viability.
  • Create drawings for custom products, such as grille patterns and geometric shapes.
  • Provide CAD information formatted for cross-functional groups\' business requirements.
  • Perform comparative checks and validate product rules for compliance.
  • Organize and store documentation properly for maintenance and retrieval.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and timetables for task completion.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of internal and external customers.
  • Update 3-D product engineering documentation to reflect changes.
  • Participate in training for documentation processes and standards.
  • Develop renderings / visualizations of CAD geometry for presentations.
  • Develop basic prototypes and fixtures based on concepts developed by others.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in 2D drafting skills.
  • Basic 3D solid modeling CAD skills.
  • Basic design fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of a Product Data Management system.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Management tools.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate of Science Degree with 0-2 years of experience in drafting or related field.
  • High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience in an engineering or research environment.
  • Strong interest and aptitude in technical or scientific fields.
  • Experience with CAD, PC, and software applications.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

    Pay And Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
