Overview :

Up to $5,000 New Hire Bonus for Certified Sterile Processing Technicians

Location : Mercy Oklahoma City

The Sterile Process Technician follows a robust series of processes in instrument decontamination, sanitization and sterilization under general supervision ensuring all equipment is free of bioburden.

Maintaining a high set of standards and procedures the instrument technician maintains, tests and assembles equipment in support of the central sterile processing to support all areas of the hospital.

Completion of career ladder competencies are at the discretion of the Sterile Processing Supervisor / manager based on internal operations and the below requirements are for hiring purposes only.

Qualifications :

Sterile Processing Instrument Technician

• Experience : Prior healthcare related experience, basic knowledge of sterilization processes in a clinical setting preferred.
• Required Education : High School degree or GED equivalent
• Other : Basic computer skills

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines.

Must be able to follow directions.

Must be able to operate equipment.

The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job.

Most physical demands are below :

Frequent : high / mid / low level lift of items weighing around 25 pounds

Frequent : hand coordination

Sterile Processing Instrument Technician II

Meets all requirements of both the Instrument Technician, as well as the following requirements :

• Experience : Minimum 4 months experience in Sterile Processing or 400 hours of hands on experience in Sterile Processing
• Certifications : CRCST or CSPDT certification through HSPA or CBSPD
• The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets;

experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At Mercy, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $32,250-$52,000.
