Packaging Supervisor Job Description
The Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the packagers and Machine Operators in the packing areas. The Packaging Supervisor is expected to have a strong floor presence with about 90% of their day spent as floor time.
The supervisor will track attendance for their shift, utilize the Production computer to communicate with management along with their shift manager.
The Supervisor needs to promote a culture of results and accountability and be well-versed in the day-to-day operations of the packaging area, including how to run machines, and to ensure they are successfully overseeing their employees and production on the lines.
Job Responsibilities :
- Oversee Employees on their production line.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure that quality procedures are being followed.
- Promote a productive and positive work environment of results and accountability.
- Track and monitor employee’s attendance
- Support and encourage all employees.
- Hold shift meetings at the start of each shift.
- Ensure that all equipment is assembled and set up for production needs.
- Keep records of production speeds, weight checks, and other data
- Monitor and maintain the production speed as set on the production schedule.
Qualifications and skills :
- 2-3 years of production line experience required.
- A minimum of 1 year of supervising or managing people is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
- Excellent people management skills
- Ability to understand and document, Safety data sheets, production line records, etc.
- Ability to work weekends as needed by sales demand.
- Due to safety requirements, all employees must be able to read, speak, and understand English to ensure clear communication in the workplace.
Hours :
- Swing 2pm 10 : 30pm
