Position Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location : College Station, TX

Department : Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Shift / Status : Full Time, 36 hrs / wk

Schedule : Day Shift (7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM), self-scheduling

Patient Population : Critically ill patients (Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, and some Trauma)

Number of Beds : 16

Patient Ratios : 1 : 2

Minimum Rate Per Hour : $32

Maximum Rate Per Hour : $53

Job Summary :

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model.

Your responsibilities will include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and evaluating patient responses.

What You'll Do :

Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans.

Adjust plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.

• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing both emotional and physical discomfort.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.

Regularly assess and document learning needs.

• Collaborate with colleagues and community members to create and execute care plans, delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Utilize problem-solving strategies, prioritize safety and effectiveness, and ensure efficient delivery of patient care.
• Achieve team goals through collaboration, recognizing contributions, and committing to personal and professional growth.

What Will Make You Successful In The Role :

• Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines applicable to your area.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, with a focus on health, disease prevention, management, and common medications.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong social skills for effective interactions with a diverse range of individuals.

Qualifications :

• Education : Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
• Specialized Field : Nursing
• License / Certification :
• A current and valid nursing license.
• BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.
