Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead Technical Animator to join our Boston studio and work on Project Orion, the successor to Cyberpunk 2077. You will bring your expertise, leadership skills, attention to detail, and passion for developing animation pipelines and systems for characters, vehicles, and weapons to our expanding team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-performing Technical Art team including Rigging TDs and Technical Animators.
• Utilize your skills in digital content creation tools and real-time engines to deliver high-quality workflows, pipelines, and animation solutions for characters, vehicles, and weapons.
• Manage your team members, supporting their growth through regular 1 : 1s, performance reviews, hiring, and promotions.
• Collaborate with Directors and Production to estimate and plan project work.
• Work closely with designers, artists, and developers to understand their needs and ensure your team delivers on expectations.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams from concept to completion.
• Establish and promote best practices to support content development aligned with artistic and technical goals.
• Mentor the technical art team, fostering an environment of creativity, trust, and excellence.
• Prototype, research, and extend rigging and animation systems.
• Develop and maintain pipelines for asset creation, focusing on characters, weapons, and vehicles.
• Address complex technical challenges while ensuring workflows are efficient and scalable.
• Participate in performance evaluation and optimization to ensure seamless gameplay experiences.
• Promote collaboration across departments to ensure effective contribution of content and animation work.
