The Data Analyst assists with compiling and analyzing data and producing reports. The Office of Grant Performance and Compliance oversees activities that ensure compliance with policies and regulations as it relates to participants’ eligibility.
Also, it analyzes and compiles data for grantors, Local Workforce Development and Corporate Boards. The Data Analyst is part of an independent research, review and evaluation body that ensures that programmatic decisions are based on labor market and performance analysis.
Also, compliance and performance issues are audited, evaluated, and resolved. The Data Analyst will be responsible for assessing the quality and quantity of services (program activities) provided by the In-School Career Coaches in the Anne Arundel County Public School (AACPS) system.

- Prepare data for analysis and reporting of grant / initiative performance for internal and external use.
- Develop regular reports of grant / initiative performance.
- Analyze grant / initiative performance.
- Assist in conducting labor market research and analysis utilizing a variety of public and proprietary tools.
- Collect and analyze statistical data and produce reports and memos. Specifically, LMI (Labor Market Information) data.
- Develop regular and ad-hoc performance reports and analyze reports and data to evaluate impact and initiative performance.
- Utilize data analysis tools to determine patterns and relationships in extensive data sets.
- Performs reporting functions to include case management notes, job placement data, follow-up information, etc. into the computer tracking system, in compliance with documentation requirements.
- Monitors numerical goals and develops and implements improvement strategies to meet benchmark objectives.
- Prepares written communications, to include progress reports, fliers, etc., as assigned.
- Work with Blueprint Career Coaching leadership to develop a plan for collecting metrics that measure progress on career readiness goals, track efforts of career coaching staff, and assess equitable service delivery.
- Audit data regularly to ensure compliance with data system usage and report any inconsistencies to Director of In-School Youth Services and team.
- Develop all training materials and deliver any necessary training for career coaching staff to use the data system.
- Create reports that monitor the monthly work of career coaches and support staff evaluation process.
- Create student surveys that assess the quality of career readiness services.
- Use data to identify best practices in service delivery
- Create protocols for publicly sharing aggregate information on programmatic impacts.

- Attends conferences, staff meetings and AAWDC functions, as assigned.

Requirements : Qualifications
Qualifications
- Education and Experience Requirements : Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in education, human resources, human services, or related field preferred, with at least one year or more of research, data analysis and tracking, or program evaluation experience.
- A combination of education and / or experience may be substituted as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.
- At least one year or more of research, data analysis and tracking, and program administration or evaluation experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Ability to prepare statistical and narrative reports, evaluate data, compare data to existing standards, investigate situations and extract and organize facts.
- Some knowledge of reference and research methods; and techniques in collecting, compiling, and organizing data.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines with rigorous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills, including data mining and management; and problem-solving are required.
- Demonstrated experience working with data tracking and reporting databases; public and proprietary data sources (Census, etc.).
- Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- The position requires intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Significant experience in Microsoft Excel, including comfort with Pivot Tables.
