Principal AI Product Engineer

Would you be interested in exploring a full-time role with our start-up client in Bay area, CA contributing your GenAI experience on the product management side of the projects?

• Create novel applications combining GenAI and advanced probabilistic techniques to solve complex challenges involving a mix of multiple modalities including text, images, audio, video, and time-series data.
• Work closely with applied research, engineering, product management, customer success, and go-to-market teams to build applications that push the state-of-the-art in Generative AI across model architectures, distributed computing, optimization techniques, large-scale deployment, probabilistic modeling, topological analysis, and domain-specific models.
• Build products, applied research and application development in any industry.

Required Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ / 7+ years of experience as an applied AI engineer or researcher with a track record of hands-on work acting as a technical leader developing novel techniques for AI in general and 3+ / 1+ years of experience actively developing GenAI technologies.
• Strong background in one of more of the following technologies : Generative AI, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Probabilistic Methods, Topological Models, Non-linear optimization, and Operations Research.
• Proven track record of publications in top-tier conferences and journals
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and / or Golang, with a deep understanding of Deep learning techniques and their deployment in large-scale production environments with accelerators (e.g. GPUs).
• In-depth hands-on knowledge of one or more cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and / or Azure.
• Ability to tackle complex problems, make data-driven decisions under ambiguous conditions, and apply best practices for secure software development.
• Exceptional problem-solving ability and attention to detail, with examples of challenging problems solved in high-stakes environments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, adapt to changing technologies and priorities, and have strong communication skills for effective team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications :

• PhD in Computer science or related technical fields.
• 15+ / 10+ years of hands-on experience as an AI researcher and 5+ years of experience actively
• developing GenAI technologies.
• Experience developing tools, libraries, and infrastructure for data preprocessing, model training / finetuning, and deployment of LLMs in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with multi-node high performance computing systems to build large-scale
• models and deploy them in production
• Experience deploying advanced AI technologies into production with product-level quality.
• Experience working at hyper-growth environments is preferred.
