The Medical Technologist performs technical laboratory testing and phlebotomy when required.Primary Responsibilities : Performs laboratory tests and procedures, which require independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision by the lead tech and laboratory supervisorDocuments daily QC and corrective action as neededPerforms calibrations, linearity testing, and proficiency testing as requiredEnters and verifies laboratory results in the LISAssists with the training and orientation of departmental personnelResolves problems with technical testing, and proficiency testing as requiredEnters and verifies laboratory results in the LISAssists with training and orientation of departmental personnelResolves problems with technical testing involving methodology, techniques and instrumentation utilizationReviews and evaluates test results and reports for accuracy, precision, readability and consistencyCollects data, prepares reports, and compiles statistics directedChecks supply inventoryAttends required meetings and participates in professional development activitiesMaintains patient confidentialityPerforms related work as requireYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications : BS degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, as approved by the accrediting agenciesCompletion of a one year internship program in an accredited institutionNYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License1+ years of experience as a Medical TechnologistPreferred Qualifications : Completion of a minimum of 90 semester hours in an accredited college which meets the specific requirements for entrance into, and the successful completion of an internship program for medical technology in an accredited institutionASCP or NCA certificationPhysical Requirements : Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordinationFrequent standing and walking required for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 poundsRequires visual acuity and normal color perceptionNew York Residents Only : The hourly range for New York residents is $23.

22 to $45.43 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
