Security Specialist - Security Clearance Required

Responsibilities

We have a compelling opportunity for a Security Specialist to support the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) in Linthicum, Maryland .

Responsibilities :

• Executes administration and coordination of DC3 security programs to ensure compliance with Defense and DC3 security policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Ensures compliance with security standards and provides guidance and support to staff members concerning all security administrative functions such as personnel security, information, and system security, COMSEC, physical security.
• Provides administrative security support associated with the receipt, distribution, inventory, reproduction, and disposition of classified material.
• Reviews applications for security clearances and clearance renewals.
• Administers and maintains physical security procedures for visitor control, employee identification and safeguard of company facilities, equipment, materials, and employee property.
• Develops and conducts security briefings and security education programs.
• Provides oversight for programs for the protection of classified information as well as propriety information.
• Supervises preparation, transmittal, and receipt of visitor certifications.
• Investigates losses and security violations and recommends corrective actions.
• Manages the continuing eligibility program for personnel using e-QIP, Scattered Castles, and DISS (Defense Information System for Security).
• Periodically inspects the facility to ensure physical security measures.
• Contributes to development, review, and disposition of standing operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• May act as Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO) for projects.
• Act as team lead

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal and / or DoD security policies and procedures.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Active / Current TS / SCI security clearance.
• Minimum of 8 years with BS / BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS / MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree)

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
