Job Description
The Production Supervisor is a key leadership role in the plant and will be responsible for the training and enforcing of health, safety, quality, and work rules of all Production team members.
- Works closely with the Plant Manager and Operations team to improve productivity and efficiency by setting production, safety, and attendance expectations while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset
- Directs and manages operations Leads and all hourly employees on shift
- Promotes a proactive safety culture and environment and ensures compliance of safe work practices
- Maintains machine and production schedules and ensures schedule is followed
- Troubleshoots production issues and escalates as needed
- Communicates status of part completion with the Production Control and Management team
- Ensures standardized work and guides training initiatives for team members in all Operations departments
- Manages team members by leading hiring and training efforts, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting annual performance evaluations
- Identifies production-related issues and facilitates timely and effective resolution
- Expedites hot jobs through production as needed
- Reports daily production outcomes and operational updates to Plant Manager
- Instills culture of engagement, transparency, accountability, teamwork, and achievement with team
- Completes timekeeping responsibilities for all shift employees
- Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior leadership and supervisory experience required; 2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working in Automotive background strongly preferred
- Cold heading / thread rolling experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, motivating employees, conflict resolution and delegation
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures
- Basic mathematical ability
