About The Position
Job Title : OR Tech / Surgical Tech Job Specialty : Surgical Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (07 : 00 - 15 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : May call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment.
Experience : Minimum 1 year required; 18 months preferred License : Not required for this role. State license must be pending or in hand.
Certifications : BLS required Must-Have : General OR experience- Bariatric case skills- Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) case skills- Endoscopic procedure skills- General surgery skills- Gynecology case skills- Orthopedic case skills- Podiatry case skills- Urology case skills- Fire safety skills- Care of scopes and fiber optic equipment skills Job Description : Work a 5x8-hour day shift with potential weekend assignments based on department needs.
On-call participation required as needed.- Block scheduling requests to be discussed with the manager.- Local applicants accepted;
no proximity restrictions.- Restricted time off ideally no more than 5 days.- Required to arrive in the state 3 business days prior to compliance due date for fingerprinting requirements.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in laparoscopic assisted cases and various surgical procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, and more.
- Experience in handling equipment like case carts, drills, and electrosurgical units.- Must adhere to hospital protocols and maintain professional knowledge in aseptic technique, instrument processing, isolation precautions, sharps safety, specimen handling, sterilization / disinfection, and universal protocol (Time out) procedures.
- Orientation includes 16 non-billable hours, and modules completed virtually on the first day, continuing annually. Hospital Highlights : A critical access, Magnet hospital with 25 staffed beds.
- Uses Cerner charting system.
