Position Summary :

TheInformatics Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invitesapplications for tenure-track faculty positions starting in Fall 2024.

We aresearching broadly across the Information Science / Systems / Technology spectrum,such as in the areas of human-centered computing (HCC), human-computerinteraction (HCI), serious / educational gaming, virtual / augmented reality(VR / AR), security, accessibility, health informatics, computer-supportedcooperative work (CSCW), and social computing.

We aim to hire at the rank ofAssistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at higher ranks will also beconsidered. Candidates with doctorates from top worldwide institutions areespecially welcome to apply.

NJITis a Carnegie R1 Doctoral University (Very High Research Activity). TheInformatics Department has 17 tenured / tenure-track faculty, and strongconnections with local industry.

The Informatics Department is part of the YingWu College of Computing (YWCC), alongside the Departments of Computer Scienceand Data Science.

YWCC has an enrollment of 4,000+ students in computingdisciplines, and graduates 1,000 computing professionals every year;

as such,it is the largest producer of computing talent in the tri-state (NY, NJ, CT)area.

Essential Functions :

Conduct research; engage in scholarly activities such as publishing papers inscientific journals and presenting work at conferences and educationalinstitutions;

pursue and obtain funding; supervise, guide, and support graduateand undergraduate students and postdoctoral scientists.

Prerequisite Qualifications :

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Informatics.
• Participate in service activities within the Department, the College, theUniversity, and the Profession.
• At the university's discretion, the education and experienceprerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to thesatisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education andexperience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
